Richmond, Virginia Neighborhood List

About This Database

We referenced several sources to create this database, including U.S. Census Data, FBI Uniform Crime Reports, the Richmond Crime Incident Information system, and the websites Nextdoor.com and AreaVibes.com.  While we attempted to use the most accurate information available, in some cases information from one source contradicted information from another source.  In those cases, we made a judgement call as to which source was most accurate in that particular instance.

As you look at the statistics in the database, keep in mind that data about crime is often misinterpreted or used in ways other than what it was intended.  You might want to read this article about how to interpret crime statistics in order to put the information in the proper perspective.
